Cowboy theme cake

The hat was made from rice crispie treats.  The rest of the cake was vanilla and chocolate covered in fondant.  I used my airbrush machine (with some trepidation!) to color the jeans.  If I were to make this again I would make the middle tier smaller.

Sugar Bottles

There is alot to be learned about the "fine" art of making these bottles.  Firstly, sugar is REALLY hot!  The color changes the longer the sugar cooks- also you can add coloring to the sugar as well- say, green for a wine bottle.  I think I will be experimenting alot with these to perfect this.

I love my cupcake tower!

This cupcake tower comes apart for perfect storage.  It can be decorated with any type of ribbon or fringe and cleans up beautifully.  I purchased it from The Smart Baker- I also bought a square one!!

Deceptively smart and chic

This is something that I found really interesting- brides these days are savvy- they know they want a beautiful- tall cake but they don't want to pay the price. Here is the solution:  order a partial "fake" cake with a real tier (for cutting into with your husband and for photos) from What a Wedding ....For Less.  The bride may then order sheet cakes for her guests that are cut in the back kitchen!  Saves a bundle and everyone is happy!  Here is an example of this- a cake made for a wedding this past weekend:

Can you tell which is the real layer?  Of course you can- it's the second tier.

Keepin' busy

Jungle theme baby shower cake- easy but time consuming!

Trunk show cookies- some match jewelery

Belle for a little girls party

Hawaii theme cookies for a  lucky lady moving there!

Alice in Wonderland- This was for a little girl turning 1.  The handle and spout are made of gumpaste and the legs are of modeling chocolate.

I loved these colors. So bright and cheerful. These types of cakes are very popular now.
